FlaviaLaRocca • {Modular Design}

With the industry seeking more efficient and zero waste solutions, FlaviaLaRocca have embraced modular design, which has allowed them to dissemble and reassemble their products. By creating a collection that is made up of modular pieces all joined together with hidden zippers, Flavia La Rocca's customers are able to deconstruct their garments and create new combinations that transcend occasion and season. By creating garments that can be adjusted we are able to prolong the products lifecycle and reduce the environmental impact each piece produced has.
Traditionally products are designed for obsolescence, to last only for a period of time, to allow and encourage the customer to get rid of that item and buy a new model. Designing modular garments helps slow down the rate of which we are producing new items, whilst still allowing customers to purchase new elements and up-grade a piece that they already love and own.
We are excited to see more from Flavia La Rocca and see how modular and garments designed for Disassembly impact and inspire the industry to adapt into exciting new ways of working and designing.

Flavia La Rocca's concept is to propose a new attitude towards clothing.

This collection of modular garments uses hidden zippers to construct and deconstruct garments, creating new combinations that transcend occasion and season. This prolongs the product lifecycle, reducing environmental impact. Made in Italy, the collection uses only recycled and natural materials, with a transparent and traceable process.

• A contemporary and modern way to dress up, starting from style matter, having the possibility to change the outfit and customise the pieces with a very simple action, saving time and space.
• Entire collections are built on modular concept.
• The clothes are composed of interchangeable modules that, through the use of hidden zippers, can be detached and matched again to create different combinations.
• Modules from different seasons can be mixed together to create a never ending wardrobe.
• The design is based on bold and geometric lines with feminine attitude, a dialogue between seasonal perspectives and a timeless but also modern and functional design.

• The entire process and the concept itself of collections reduces the waste of water, energy and raw materials, bearing in mind the importance of protecting our planet.
• The possibility to wear the same piece of clothing in different ways or to renew it instead of throw it away make the life cycle of the product longer.
• The production is entirely Made in Italy in order to cutting down CO2 emissions and limit the transports environment impact.
• They directly control their supply chain to be sure that respects the planet as well as the people on it.
• The pieces are made out of recycled, made by new technologies or natural fabrics, all certified. (we of course hope that any man-made recycled materials fully disclose the impacts of microfibres and their 'Product plus' attributes allowing their customers to chose wisely.)

• They believe our customers have a right to know how their clothes are made.
• Who made them? Where? Which material is used?
• They reveal each step behind all of our products-from materials to labor to the final product.

Ethical approach
• People are so important.
• They know directly the people that work with them.
• They research the best ethical and sustainable companies as suppliers. They visit them and build strong personal relationships with the owners.
• They work also directly with local artisans, they know their story and we enhance their talents.
• Fashion is made by people and they want to ensure a positive impact

“I think that there is a big potential in sustainability, it is the future, the awareness is growing, technology help us to find new materials and new process with less impact on the planet, every reality at every stage has the possibility to control how much their work is sustainable, from small reality to the big ones. It is possible to adjust each step of the production in order to have also an ethical way of work.

From my point of view, I am proposing a sustainable concept of clothing, I always keep researching new materials and the way to let them more interesting with new techniques. There is no limit , we just need to believe in it and let the people understand that fashion can be glam and stylish but at the same time sustainable and ethical.
