ETHICAL CLOTHING australia week 2020

The inaugural #ECAWeek2020 (Ethical Clothing Australia Week) kicks off today (sunday)!

The first and only week focused on ethically accredited Australian manufacturers and locally-made textiles, clothing and footwear. It is our chance to celebrate the businesses, designers and importantly the skilled workers behind the garments made in Australia. This year is extra special as it is also ECA's 20 year anniversary. Find their go-to guide to #ECAWeek2020 below!

To celebrate the week, ECA-accredited businesses have been working hard planning both digital and in person events to coincide with ECA Week. Including virtual tours of factories, Q&A's with business owners, meet the makers campaigns and much more!

As a consumer you can show your support for #ECAWeek2020 by registering for accredited business events, joining the conversation on social media and spreading the word about ethical manufacturing and the protection of our Australian garment workers.

The ECA team have also launched a podcast! They have teamed up with Brisbane-basedBritt’s List to create The Quick Unpick - the podcast about the Australian fashion brands manufacturing locally and ethically. To celebrate the release, they are hosting a live recording of their launch episode and they are hosting a live recording of their first episode tomorrow nightt! (monday night)

Join them, their National Manager, Angela Bell and TCF National Secretary, Jenny Kruschel from the Manufacturing Division of the CFMEU. You'll also hear the stories of two Australian outworkers, who have been using their sewing skills for years to make a living by working from home.
