An extended weekend of Inspiration, activations & workshops
& a first-of-its-kind in Australia
Circular Fashion Exhibition
For May 2022, RawAssembly has joined forces with global media powerhouse T Magazine and BETA By STH BNK at Hanover House to amplify their impact through an extended weekend event that is packed full of brand activations, workshops, future waste lab open studio tours and next generation leaders changing the way we care for our products.
Join us to hang out with the Melbourne Converse team who will be recreating their Converse 'Remake hub' at the heart of the event, where Converse fans can bring their much loved sneakers to have them laundered, up-cycled or repaired - or simply drop off a old pair that have some to the end of their life, so they can be recycled into new products.
RESPONSIBLE. REGENERATIVE. CIRCULAR MADE TO BE REMADE

CHANGING THE INGREDIENTS:
FASHION'S FUTURE RECIPE EXHIBITION
A new generation of designers are rethinking our relationship to everyday things, especially fashion and textiles. From fashion to food, agriculture to architecture and construction, from packaging to footwear - finding lost value in our waste and imagining a future of clean materials fit for a circular economy could be the pathway out of our linear system.
RawAssembly’s circular design exhibition showcases some of the visionary designers who are reinventing the way in which our products are designed today and takes visitors on a journey from our current linear system to a circular one. The exhibition highlights that, we all have a role to play in creating tomorrow together. The exhibition offers journeys, stories and resources to empower and equip the design and creative community to seize the opportunity of the circular economy as a framework for positive global impact.
This is not just an exhibition, it is a campaign designed to share knowledge, inspire leadership, challenge today and drive action from industry through to our surrounding businesses and communities.

REGENERATING AUSTRALIA
Written & Directed By DAMON GAMEAU
Produced By ANNA KAPLAN
Regenerating Australia is a 17-minute short film based on a four-month interview process with a diverse group of Australians who shared their hopes and dreams for the country's future. It is a new story for our nation: a story of empowerment. A story of solutions. A story of regeneration.
Set on New Year's Eve of December 2029, a news anchor is ending the nightly bulletin with a look back
at the decade 'that could be’. A decade that saw Australia transition to a fairer, cleaner, more community focused economy. The film is a construction of news reports and press conferences

RE-LOVE PRE-LOVED
Founders Annabel and Sophie have had their eco-awakening . Both have worked for many years in the fashion industry and are equally aware that it is time to make a difference.
Fuelled with a deep desire to change how they view fashion, Annabel and Sophie set out to create a platform for the community to rent, lend, resell and buy timeless fashion pieces.
Mills & York was born from their love of fashion and their vision to see beautiful pieces shared sustainably.
Inspired by the streets where they live, Mills and York is a sustainable approach to fashion- from their street to your street. Open house on level 4 - in the 'workshop' hub within the Atelier space - to invite people to understand the resell and rental market, however they can work with pieces in their wardrobe. How to work with Mills & York to list their premium and luxury items to ensure we are keeping quality items in circulation, thereby helping to reduce more unwanted fashion items from landfill, one dress, jacket and sneaker at a time.

CONVERSE RENEW LABS
Converse will create its Renew lab at the heart of RAW TO A T – their hub is where everyone of all ages can come to customise, refresh and repair their old Chucks rather than throwing them away. Renew Labs also serves as a collection point for any kicks that can’t be mended so they can be recycled into products like gym flooring through national recycling initiatives.
The renew labs within RAW to a T is a space for sustainable self-expression.
Where everyone collaborates and creativity is showcased. It is an inclusive space to continue to create a waste-less future.
Renew Labs is about doing more with what you have because there’s always a way to renew what we do.

FUTURE FROM WASTE LAB TOUR
IN COLLABORATION WITH KITX
Transforming the way clothes are made, sold, and used, The Future From Waste Lab lays down a blueprint for the disruptive approach to retail that will be realised in the STH BNK project. Panel Discussion
Day 1 - 28th May - 11am
RETHINKING THE VALUE OF FASHION: Fashion’s style and substance
This panel discussion will focus on the urgent need to value fashion for both its style and its substance. Fashion’s value in helping us to express our style and communicate identity is well understood and publicised. What is often overlooked in our appreciation of fashion is the value held in the material creation of fashion and clothing. From the natural resources used in fibres and fabrics, dying and finishing, through to the time and skills of garment makers - the substance of fashion or its ‘material’ value is often unnoticed or seen as disposable.
The panel draws together a selection of industry professionals who are keenly aware of the neglected resources held in fashion - an oversight that results in enormous volumes of textile waste each year. These individuals use recycling and upcycling to release the creative potential of fashion’s abundant yet discarded resources. As part of the discussion, the panel will also discuss responsible approaches we can all adopt to rethink fashion’s value, and that promotes a greater appreciation for both its style and substance.
